Clara Sono – Clara Sono is a qualified nurse and ANC member with a passion for community development.

Despite receiving two fractured knees in a car accident in 2000 (which led her doctor to order a early retirement) Mrs Sono has proceeded to set up two crèches, fed and looked after countless orphans and vulnerable children, organised youth groups and spoken whenever possible to the youth on morals and values and is an expert in aural cultural history. She has trained leaders and home based carers and motivated for and received funding for a beautiful new clinic for the Makotopong community. In 2006 the community asked her to come back as a nurse. Ms Sono believes that you must do whatever you are doing not for gain but whole heartedly for your own people, irrespective of race, colour and creed.
