Melita Voilet Masemola – Mrs Masemola taught for over 30 years and loves children.

Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s work, she started Re A Kgona Community Drop-In Centre for HIV and AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in 2002. Re A Kgona cares for 300 orphans and vulnerable children in the area. Mrs Masemola has set up a nursery and a pre-school in her own backyard to help the younger orphans integrate with the community. She employs two full-time teachers and has personally trained, inspired and selected 14 full-time volunteers who make daily visits to the homes of the orphans and vulnerable children. Re a Kgona work in partnership with the community social workers and clinics. To help with funding and food for the children Mrs Maseola has set up a garden and a beading project. She is a mentor to four satellite projects in surrounding areas. Due to her age, Mrs Masemola finds it hard to get around easily but is still determined to carry on so that she can show God’s love to her community.
